Stripe identity verification, also referred to as Know Your Customer (KYC) verification, confirms who you are before you can sell Zucoins and receive payouts through Zutopia.
This step exists to keep the Zutopia marketplace secure for everyone trading on it, and is handled entirely by Stripe rather than Zutopia.
Before You Begin
A Zutopia account with Stripe onboarding started
A valid form of identification, as requested by Stripe
Access to the device you used to sign up
Step-by-Step Instructions
Begin the Stripe onboarding process from within Zutopia.
Submit the identification details Stripe requests.
Close and reopen the Zutopia app to check for an update on your verification status.
How Long Verification Takes
Stripe KYC verification can take up to 14 days, though most accounts are processed in under 30 minutes. After submitting your information, close and reopen Zutopia to refresh your verification status.
Important Notes
Verification is performed by Stripe, not Zutopia. Zutopia does not store the identification documents you submit.
You may see an “Information Required” message in the app while Stripe is still validating your details.
Troubleshooting
Problem: After Stripe onboarding, the app only shows the “Information Required” message
Cause: This message suggests that Stripe either needs additional information or is still in the process of validating your account.
Solution: Completely close Zutopia, reopen it, and try again. This prompts the app to recheck for updates from Stripe.
