Understanding payments and payouts

Payments and payouts are different parts of the trading process on Zutopia.

A payment is made when you purchase Zucoins from another user, while a payout is the transfer of funds you receive after successfully selling Zucoins.

Both are processed by Stripe, with Zutopia coordinating the trade and verifying that Zucoins have moved correctly between wallets.

Payments

Payments are used when buying Zucoins from the marketplace.

To make a purchase, you must have a valid debit or credit card saved to your Zutopia account.

Before a transaction begins, your selected payment card is pre-authorised to confirm that sufficient funds are available. The payment is only captured after the Zucoin transfer has been successfully completed.

Payouts

Payouts are used when you sell Zucoins.

To receive payouts, you must complete Stripe onboarding through the Zutopia app and provide your bank account details.

Once a sale has been completed and the payment has cleared through Stripe, the funds are automatically transferred to your nominated bank account as a payout.

Your first payout may take up to 14 days to be processed, although many users receive it within 2 business days. Subsequent payouts are typically processed within 1–2 business days.
