Whether a trade on Zutopia is classed as domestic or international depends on the countries of the buyer and seller, and this classification directly affects the transaction fee applied.
Knowing the difference helps you understand the fee you will see at the time of trade.
How Routing Works
Transactions between users in the same country that are supported by Stripe are processed domestically and attract domestic fees. For any international transactions, the trade is routed through the country connected to the seller's account.
Fee Comparison
Domestic transactions incur a fee of 1.60%, covering card processing or card-to-bank-account fees. International transactions incur a fee of 3.45%. A minimum fee applies to transactions below $75 USD: $1.60 USD for domestic trades and $2.50 USD for international trades.
Important Notes
Minimum fees are charged in the listing currency and settled at the time of sale, converted from USD. Percentage fees are calculated as a percentage of the listing value in the listing currency.
