How Zutopia transaction fees are calculated

Transaction fees are calculated based on the value of the trade and whether the transaction is domestic or international.

For larger transactions, a percentage-based fee applies. For smaller transactions, a minimum fee is charged instead.

Understanding this calculation helps you anticipate the cost of a trade before you commit to it.

Percentage-Based Fees

For transactions valued at $75 USD or more, the following transaction fees apply to both the buyer and the seller:

  • 1.6% of the transaction value for domestic transactions.

  • 3.45% of the transaction value for international transactions.

Minimum Fees

For transactions valued at less than $75 USD, the percentage fee is replaced by a minimum transaction fee.

The minimum fees are:

  • $1.60 USD for domestic transactions.

  • $2.50 USD for international transactions.

These minimum fees apply to both the buyer and the seller.

Important Notes

  • Transaction fees are charged separately to both the buyer and the seller.

  • A transaction is considered domestic when the buyer uses an AUD payment card and the seller receives payouts to an AUD bank account. Otherwise, the transaction may be treated as international.

  • All applicable fees are displayed before you confirm a trade.

  • The monthly USD $5.00 compliance fee, where applicable, is separate from the transaction fees described in this article.
