SplitChain is a ground-up layer 1 network built to power Zucoins and the wider Zucoins ecosystem, designed without relying on miners or staking.
Rather than organising transactions into blocks like a traditional blockchain, SplitChain fragments the ledger across the network.
How SplitChain Differs from Blockchain
SplitChain differs from Blockchain in that there are no “blocks” in SplitChain. This means transactions are not grouped into sets of blocks processed by miners on the network. Transactions are instead maintained independently and stored in a fragmented index, within peers' wallets, and cached temporarily by the network nodes.
Scaling
To keep the network relatively lightweight, SplitChain scales with the number of network participants, with the aim of reaching hundreds of thousands of transactions per second.
